About the Festival
The event will bring together a wonderful array of well over 80 stands to explore, including inspiring arts and crafts, music to relax to, essential oils and essences, fair trade goods, health and beauty products, jewellery, clothing, self-help books and more. There will also be therapies to try and advice to improve health and well being.
What's On Over the Weekend
What is very exciting is that included in the entry fee is a full programme of free talks covering a range of topics, featuring talented speakers. From Biodanza and shamanic drumming to the art of mindfulness, from crystal therapy to acupuncture and sound therapy, from yoga to meditation, there is something for everyone over the weekend.
Elaine says, 'We all need a little bit of inspiration, relaxation, fun and time-out from our busy lives and this weekend ticks all those boxes and more. I look forward to seeing you there for a fantastic weekend.'
The very first Bristol Holistic Festival is set to be launched at the M Shed museum, alongside the floating harbour in the heart of the city's docklands in March 2017. With it's light, airy exhibition space overlooking the picturesque harbour, it provides and inspirational platform to showcase the event.
Elaine Fenton, a Bristol girl by birth, and organiser of several successful festivals of this kind in the UK, is looking forward to returning to her home town and to 'bringing together an inspirational holistic event for people of all ages'.
Children's Can Have Fun Too
A little later on we will be announcing the children's programme for the weekend. No doubt with all this water around, there might be one or two pirates to encounter, and treasure to find!
Also, with the event falling on Mother's Day, there will be craft activities especially tailored to help children make something for mum in the children's craft area! Watch this space.
Teaming up to Raise Funds for MV Balmoral
To make this event extra special for visitors, and to raise funds for this incredible ship, some of the weekend's activities, including an evening show, will take place on the MV Balmoral which is moored alongside the M Shed. Balmoral is one of the last surviving ships of its type, this member of the National Historic Fleet.
The Charity, MV Balmoral Fund Ltd, has the objective of maintaining MV Balmoral cruising around the coasts of the UK for the benefit of as many people as possible. Crucially, its objectives are also educational so that future generations can witness both our maritime heritage and current practices by actually sailing in a classic coastal steamer. The Fund is run entirely by volunteers and has no paid staff.
